At last! I’m a calendar girl! Â Well, not me, but one of my paintings has been published in the 2011 San Diego Hospice calendar. It just came in the mail and I’m so thrilled. It is a calendar of all the winning paintings from this year’s shows at the hospice. My show was in September, and I took a first place, tied a second and also a 3rd place winning! That just goes to show, people do like my work. This painting is 18 x 24 inches, framed and matted, 22 x 28 inches.
I did this painting of the flowers when they were fresh in a vase in my dining room about a year ago. I love doing paintings from the real thing, there is nothing like sensing the true color of the light happening right in front of me to stir me to express what I feel.
So now, I can say that I am a girl with one of my paintings in a calendar! There are other paintings or photo images from the other winning artists in this calendar, measuring 10 x 10 inches in size.
